BUSINESS & LEADERSHIP
My passion for business has led me to summer programs at prestigious academic institutions, professional experiences in the private sector, having the opportunity to intern in three companies, and leadership positions within my school and community.
Movistar Arena Bogota
During the summer of 2023, I had the opportunity to intern in a ticketing, concert, and sports venue. I had the opportunity to develop my skills working on a team as I was moving across all the areas of the company. I started in the accounting department, assisting to formal meetings to discus forward-looking finances and projects. Then I moved into the inventory management, where I learned the importance of organization. Ending up shadowing the CEO, and spending some days in the marketing department.
COLUMBIA
STANFORD
In 2019, I took a leadership course through Stanford University’s Pre-Collegiate Honors Academy. Through the course, we analyzed texts and case studies of different leadership models, and analyzed books to determine and identify our main leadership strengths. Towards the end of the program, we were assignedto groups of three. My group prepared a presentation about child labor in Colombia, which we presented for an audience of eighty, and created a right of petition to have an impact with our project.
AZ Inmobiliaria
In the summer of 2021, I started worked as an intern at AZ Inmobiliaria, a real estate company in Bogotá, focused on commercial premises, offices, and warehouses. As an intern, I collaborated with professionals to evaluate company cash flows, explored the taxation system, and learned how to identity prime real estate worth of investments. After this summer, I became a part-time employee, working 12 hours per week for 35 weeks a year. I lead negotiations with contractors in order to publish the webpage, which is now successfully operating. I also visit the premises as part of my assigned routine. Furthermore, I still work at the company as a part-time employee.
Berkshire Hathaway Annual Investor Meeting
In 2023, I had the privilege of assisting at the annual investor meeting in Omaha, Nebraska, alongside my brother. This event was led by two legendary figures in the world of finance, Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger. As someone who has been actively involved in the stock market as a long-term investor since 2020, when I began this journey at the age of 14, I have always looked up to Warren Buffett as an icon and a role model.
During the meeting, I was genuinely impressed by the depth of knowledge that Warren Buffett possessed on the subject of investing. This experience provided me with a remarkable opportunity to further my growth as an investor.
